Independence Day in Poland

What will happen in Lublin on 11th November ?
This Monday, we will be celebrating the 101st anniversary of Poland regaining independence. All stores will be closed and pharmacies and clinics will open as on holidays. Remember that on this day the changed MPK bus timetable also applies.

If you would like to celebrate National Independence Day with the residents, we prezent below the program of events for this day:
08.30 – Laying flowers at the monuments of the Unknown Soldier and Marshal Józef Piłsudski (Litewski Square)
09.00 – Formal meeting of the Lublin City Council (Crown Tribunal)
10.00 – Mass for the homeland (Lublin Archcathedral)
11.30 – March to Zamkowy Square
11.45 – Ceremony at Castle Square (including playing and singing the national anthem, ceremonial raising of the state flag on the mast, occasional speeches, remembrance appeal and salute of honor, concert of a military orchestra from the parade drill, parade of honor companies, rides and historical vehicles)

In the meantime, there will also be accompanying events, including: an occasional concert of the military orchestra, presentation of reconstruction groups and historical vehicles, an exhibition of Polish Army equipment and other uniformed services, trips along the “Trail of Regaining Independence” (PTTK guides), City Independence Game,
At 6 p.m. at the Old Theater on Jezuicka 18 Street, you will be able to see the movie “Piłsudski”.
