Many foreigners dream of running their own business in Poland. The lack of Polish citizenship is not an obstacle to fulfill the desire to become an entrepreneur. A chain of convenience stores Żabka has already helped over 6,000 people, including foreigners, to pursue the franchise. Currently, the network provides everyone with guaranteed basic income in amount of PLN 17,000 per month for the first year of operation and an additional bonus of PLN 10,000 for the start.

To start working with the Żabka network, every candidate, regardless of background, must go through an employment and training process. However, if a candidate does not have Polish citizenship and comes from a country outside the European Union, he has to have a permanent residence permit, long-term EU residence permit, temporary residence permit or a valid Pole’s Card with a visa and an application for a residence card. Persons who do not have Polish citizenship should present two guarantors with Polish citizenship or, optionally, one guarantor and a deposit of PLN 25,000.

– When I moved to Poland, I got a job as a salesman in one of the chain stores. There I met my current wife Martina. Together with my wife, we decided to give up our full-time job in favor of our own business – she was the first to open a store, because I still had to complete the formalities necessary to set up a business in Poland. However, we both worked hand in hand in her facility under the Żabka brand, and when I completed all the formalities, I managed to start my own business. I appreciate the franchise, first of all, because we work on a proven model with many years of experience and specific rules. Guaranteed income also gives me a great sense of security. n addition, little is invested in the store itself, only PLN 5,000 – says Yevhenii Mishchenko, franchisee from Wrocław.

Candidates in the franchise are not required to have previous experience in the field of trade or special education. Żabka guarantees each new franchisee careful preparation for the operation of its store. The candidate undergoes a training course that completed with an exam, and for the first 3 months from the opening of the facility, he is a subject to a special on boarding process conducted by qualified trainers. Ukraine in the Center of Lublin – Ukraina w Centrum Lublina

The 14th edition of the Ukrainian Culture Festival “Ukraine in the Center of Lublin” has started yesterday. The festival will be held hybrid from Thursday, November 18 to Sunday, November 21, as every year in a warm and friendly atmosphere, among creative and interesting personalities. The festival aims to present Ukrainian culture through literature, art, photography and cinema.

It is organized by the Foundation for Spiritual Culture of the Borderland, which involves Ukrainian students, representatives of the Ukrainian minority in Poland, as well as Poles interested in Ukraine.

During the 14th edition of the festival, will take place a number of different events. Among them, there will be a literary meeting with Aleksandra Zinchuk, during which will be presented a bilingual collection of her poems entitled “Ja De/ Ï Ду Де”. A bilingual collection of poems by the author entitled “Ja De/ Ï Ду Де” will be presented during the meeting. Another event will be a presentation of the collection of uncensored works of Lesa Ukrainka in 14 volumes, which were published on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the writer. Then, on Saturday, November 20, there will be an online meeting with Roman Kabachiy, a historian and publicist, and a meeting with Kateryna Babkina devoted to her newest book “Nobody danced like my grandfather,” published in the East Express publishing series, translated by Bohdan Zadura. In September and October, we held four workshops within the second thematic block that were addressed to newcomers and concerned the items of legalization of stay in Poland. 152 people attended those workshops.

At our workshops participants received very important and clear information about:

Сhanges of income criteria for entitlement to social assistance

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the changes regarding the income criterion

Verification of the income criteria and amounts of cash benefits from social assistance takes place every 3 years, so in 2022 the income criteria for entitlement to social assistance benefits will change. From January 1, new income criteria will apply, i.e. 776 zł for a single person and 600 zł for people running a shared household with their family. The new income criteria will also affect the situation of foreigners staying on the territory of Poland. In particular, this will apply to the necessary amount to cover the costs of the foreigner’s living or to determine a stable source of regular income for persons applying, for example, for a temporary residence permit. Therefore, from 2022, the amount of costs to cover the foreigner’s maintenance or the amount indicating a stable and regular income must be in line with the criterion set out above.

Acquisition of immovable properties by a foreigner without the permission of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration

There is a possibility of acquiring a real estate by a foreigner in Poland without the need of obtaining the permit from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration. Such a possibility is regulated by the Act on the Acquisition of Immovable Properties by Foreigners of March 24, 1920. On the basis of the provision of this Act, we distinguish two circumstances that determine it. The first is the nature of the property and the second is the legal situation of the acquirer.

Foreigners who are citizens or entrepreneurs of states – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation are exempted from obtaining a permit. In the case of other foreigners, there is no need to issue it when acquirer:

has lived in Poland for at least 5 years from the granting of a permanent residence permit or a long-term EU residence permit
is a spouse of a Polish citizen and has lived in Poland for at least 2 years from the granting of a permanent residence permit or a long-term EU residence permit, and the acquired immovable property will joint property of spouses
on the date of acquisition (through agreement), is entitled to statutory succession from the transferor of the real a state, and the transferor himself is its owner or holder of perpetual usufruct for at least 5 years
is a legal person or a commercial company controlled by foreigners, without legal personality, based in Poland and acquires undeveloped real estate, with the total area of which throughout the country does not exceed 0.4 ha for statutory purposes
is a bank and at the same time a mortgagee and acquires real estate by taking ownership of the real estate as a result of an ineffective auction in enforcement proceedings
is a bank based in Poland controlled by foreigners and acquires shares in a company in Poland in connection with the pursuit of claims by this bank as a result of banking activities performed

Among the immovable properties, we distinguish those that do not need such a permit. These are:

self-contained residential unit, like real estate consisting of rooms and auxiliary premises. Auxiliary premises include a kitchen or a bathroom. The condition is that such properties provide adequate housing conditions
premises intended for a garage (or shares in such premises), if the buyer or owner of the property wants to secure adequate housing conditions in the form of access to a garage

However, it should be remembered that despite the fact of meeting above-mentioned conditions if the agricultural land exceeds the area of 1 ha and the property is located in the border zone, i.e. in the area of municipalities adjacent to the state border, the permit of the Minister of Interior and Administration is obligatory.

The Jagiellonian Fair is held annually in Lublin

Lublin will be filled with traditional music and crafts for the fifteenth time this year. The Jagiellonian Fair is a three-day celebration of folk tradition and culture. The festival presents traditional culture on many levels: from folk art, through music, singing and dancing, to fun related to science and education. The festival program will include unique folk art, creators and craftsmen who will fill the Old Town in Lublin.

This year’s edition of the Fair will focus on topic related to traditional instruments and their role in folk culture. This year’s festival will allow you to get to know both Polish folk instruments and instruments from other parts of the world. You will have the possibility to buy music instruments created by Polish masters at the Jagiellonian Fair.

The Jagiellonian Fair 2021 festiwal will also focus on the role of women in traditional culture. There will also be attractions for children. The unusual workshops for children will take place at the Fair Yard.

The exhibitions, meetings and performances that will introduce selected regional traditions will take place during the the Jagiellonian Fair.
