Nałęczów

Spring is here and it’s a great moment to start sightseeing around Lublin. You may not know about the places you can visit during your sunny weekend and spend lovely time with your friends. Probably you will say that one day is not enough to go out of the city and see something interesting but believe me, there are many possibilities to one-day trip from Lublin.

One of many attractive places to visit near Lublin is Nałęczów. The town with a 4,800 inhabitants is located in the South of Poland just 30 kilometers far from Lublin. The town is famous for its healing waters that was discovered in the 18th century and then developed as a health resort, mainly for circulatory disorder treatments. In the 19th century the owner of Nałęczów intended to make it a garden-town and this original state of the place has been well-kept until today.

A very beautiful spa park is the heart of Nałęczów. The river Bohotniczanka runs through the park and creates the charming view of a small pond with an island, in the center of the park. When visiting the park you should walk down the Lipowa Street to see beautiful 100 year-old villas. You should also remember that one of the most popular old monuments of the town is Malachowski’s Palace that is worth visiting.

Nałęczów was the favored holiday place of famous polish novelist Bolesław Prus who used to spend his vacations there. You can see the BolesławPrus sculpture in front of the Stefan Żeromski’s Museum.

There are nice café-bars in Nałęczów that you can visit and enjoy your coffee or tea and admire the beauty of the garden-town.You can easily find bus and train connections between Lublin and Nałęczów from the Lublin bus station (Ruska st. Position No.6) or Train Station (Plac Dworcowy 1).The trip will take you around 30-50 minutes and then you have the whole day to wander in the town.
