By reading this blog you will learn how you can join the organization of Christmas activities for people in need. You can do a small thing that will make Christmas time a wonderful moment and a beautiful memory for someone. Here are a few charity actions that you can support:
1. Caritas Christmas Eve – for the third time the Christmas Eve of Mercy will take place on December 24 at 10.00 in the Lublin Fair hall. It will gather over 500 people in need, i.e. homeless, lonely, elderly, abandoned or unwell people. You can support this event by making a donation, making gifts and even serving those in need during Christmas Eve. Learn more.
2. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity – one-day public collection for the highest class medical equipment, organized by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation. The 28th GOCC will take place on January 12, 2020. You can support the campaign by paying a donation, organizing a fundraiser on Facebook, shopping on Allegro for the GOCC. You can also become a GOCC volunteer and collect money for the smallest children on 12 January. More on the site.
3. Charity Pack
Collection of food products for the poorest once, in special paper bags.
You can pick up the bags from all parishes in our archdiocese region (just ask the priest) or from the Caritas Office at al. Unii Lubelskiej 15 in Lublin. Afterwards you can fulfill the bag with first need products like sugar, flour, oil, corn flakes etc. Bags filled with goods you should give back to parishes or Caritas Office. 4. Christmas Eve Work for Children
Charity sale of beautiful Caritas candles. Income will cover studies, summer camps, treatment, hot meals etc. for kids from the poorest families. You can purchase the candles in Caritas Office at al. Unii Lubelskiej 15 up to Christmas Eve. More information and pictures of the candles you can find here.
5. Help for Daily Center for Homeless
Since 1st of November homeless people in Lublin can find a shelter and some basic help at al. Unii Lubelskiej 15, every day from 7 am. to 7 pm.. The Center provides them with possibility to take a shower, change their clothes for new once, eat hot meal and participate in cultural activities e.g. visit in a museum. Homeless people can also receive there help with searching for a job or an apartment. You can get involved by:
– Donating material gifts- clothes in a good condition( mainly men’s e.g.: warm hoodies, sweaters, pants and shoes), food products with long expiration date, cosmetics (shampoo, razors, soap etc.)
– Financial donating
– By personally helping with the organization of Christmas Eve for homeless and poor once

6. Polish Charity Action- Help Children to Survive the Winter
This action invites you to donate to children from the poorest families products like: Clothes, shoes, toys, books, sweets and food with long expiration date. You can pass them on to Main Warehouse of the Action on Kunickiego 35 street up to 23rd of December. More information you can find here.
7. Jadłodzielnia
Here you can leave food to save it from wasting and share with those who need it. It is located on the big market at al. Tysiąclecia 2 street, box number 97 on the market area number 1, entrance gate next to Społem SS shop. Opening hours Monday-Sunday 7 am.
