Did you know that the state of emergency in Poland, declared on September 2, 2021 is the first such a case in 40 years? The state of emergency was introduced at the request of the Council of Ministers by the President Andrzej Duda in connection with the tense situation on the state border between Poland and Belarus. It covers a total of 183 localities in the Podlaskie and Lubelskie voivodships, near Belarus border. It will last 30 days.
Please note that this is an exceptional situation that restricts certain civil rights and freedoms in a given area. Among other things, the right to organize and conduct assemblies and mass events is suspended. Only people who live and work there may stay in the area covered by the state of emergency. Moreover, they are obliged to carry around an identity document.
