Lublin City Council has announced the date of this year’s admission of children to a nursery school in Lublin. This year’s registration will start on April 1st and run until April 10th.
At the same time, Lublin City Council announces that from March 2nd to March 20th parents need to announce the intention to continue pre-school education for children who are already attending municipal institutions.

On May 4th, the lists of children who are approved for nursery schools will be announced. From May 4th until May 8th, parents will need to confirm their child’s admission to the nursery school where the child is approved.

From June 15th to June 19th, parents of a child who is not been approved to any municipal institution can participate in an additional set of registration by registering their child in the selected nursery school. Parents need to fill out an online application form or send an application form directly to the nursery school department.

This year, the rules for admission of children to nursery school are implemented by the Lublin City Council. Additional points can be obtained for the fact that one or both parents pay taxes on personal income tax in Lublin. This is one of the ways of Lublin City Council to reward people who contribute to the budget of the city of Lublin.

Parents have the right to apply for more than one nursery school. One of them should be marked as a priority, the other two as additional, in case of lack of places in the first one.
According to the Polish law, parents have the right not to send a child to the nursery school till child will turn 6 years old. Attendance of the preparatory classes is mandatory for a child of 6 years old. Foreign children are admitted to a nursery school on the same basis as Polish children. Parents need to submit a document about previous child’s education. The document have to be officially translated into Polish. If your child did not visit the nursery school before, you do not need to submit that document. Parents should provide a document proving their place of residence, which may be an apartment lease or an ownership certificate. An important document is the document confirming the legality of stay in Poland.

If a nursery school of your priority choice does not have online registration, you should apply in a paper form. If the nursery school has online registration, parents must register their child on a dedicated registration platform. When filling out the form, please indicate the other nursery schools you have selected.

If your child has not been admitted to any nursery school, you have the opportunity to appeal the decision. You should appeal in written form no later than 7 days after the announcement of the list of children who are and who are not accepted to a nursery school. Parents may apply for a justification of the rejection. Then submit your complaint to the director of a nursery school. If the nursery school refuses to accept the child, you can submit a complaint to the administrative court.
